IEEE Computer Society Dallas Chapter 20 APR 2012 Meeting |
IEEE Computer Society |
|
| When: | Friday 20 APR 2012 Lunch: 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM Talk: 12:15 PM - 1:00 PM |
| Where: | Texas Instruments ("South Campus") 12500 TI Boulevard (SAME location as 8505 Forest Ln; just redefined main gate) Dallas, TX (Conference Rooms S1 & S2) |
| Topic: | "Reconfigurable EXASCALE Computing" |
| Speaker: | Steve Wallach, Chief Scientist, Co-Founder, & Director Convey Computer Corporation |
| Abstract: | High Performance Computing (HPC) research is focused on achieving ExaFlop/ExaOp performance by 2020. Unlike reaching a PetaFlop, to reach ExaScale computing, the general consensus is that vastly new programming paradigms, hardware architectures, and interconnects will be needed (as well as new power plants). This presentation will be focused on increasing uniprocessor performance and the roles that application specific heterogeneous computing and compilers play in evolving processor architecture. |
